Michael Redd - Supplements of a Pro Basketball Player

Michael Redd describes himself as ” a man of faith. A husband and father. A basketball player. A role model.” On and off the court, Redd has made it his mission to enjoy life, work hard and be the best he can be.

Redd began playing basketball at age two when his father introduced him to the game. “As I grew and my skills improved, playing professionally became my dream,” he said. After excelling on his high school team in Columbus, Ihio, Redd went on to play at The Ohio State University, where he led the offense for three years. In 2000 after his junior year, Redd’s dream came true when he was drafted as a second round pick (43rd overall) by Milwaukee.

A Slam Dunk with AdvoCare

A couple of years into his professional career, Redd decided he needed to boost his performance. “My skills were getting better, but my athletic ability was struggling,” said Redd. “I hired a trainer and he introduced me to AdvoCare and the results have been remarkable.”
As with most introductions to AdvoCare, it started with AdvoCare Spark®. “Spark gave me an immediate energy boost. Next, I tried Rehydrate, then started mixing it with Spark. This combination helps prevent me from cramping, keeps me hydrated and I never get tired during a 48-minute game.”
Redd also enjoys the results of Post-Workout Recovery, Joint ProMotion™OmegaPlex® and Catalyst™. “I take a number of AdvoCare supplements every day and I feel and look healthier.”
Redd has spent his nine-year basketball career with Milwaukee, an unusual accomplishment. “You never know how long you’ll be with one team, especially now with free agency,” said Redd. “The city of Milwaukee has been loyal to me and my family. It’s been good here.” And it has definitely been rewarding. After the 2004-2005 season, Redd signed a new six-year, $91 million contract with Milwaukee.
Las year, Redd added a new accomplishment to his resume as an integral part of Team USA’s gold-medal winning basketball team at the Games in Beijing. “This is all from a kid who was drafted in the second round,” said Redd. “It’s still amazing to me that I’ve had these opportunities. I am so grateful to everyone who has helped me along the way.”
In 2008, Redd signed on as an AdvoCare endorser. “I plan to always take AdvoCare products. Even when I retire, I will continue because it’s all about being healthy, feeling great and getting the most out of life.”

Off the Court

Redd understands the importance of giving back to his community. In addition to hosting a basketball camp every summer, he and his wife founded the Michael Redd foundation to give back to the kids in Redd’s hometown. He founded the Now or Never community event, an evangelistic crusade fro the purpose of winning lost souls to Christ, and also supports various charities in his hometown as well as in Milwaukee.
“It’s fun watching these kids grow and change and it’s humbling to know what I do affects them,” said Redd. “Some kids don’t have the proper role models in their own family to look up to, so they look up to athletes and other public figures. I welcome the challenge of being a role model and always try to live a Christ-like life.”
